Bible Studies Fall 2011

This quarter we will be studying the book of I John. One of the most valuable things anyone has taught me is how to study the Bible well. So, if you have never been in a Bible study before but would like to learn how to study it then please come and join us. If you have been in many studies this will still prove to be challenging and a growing experience.

So, why I John? Well, because John was a man who actually walked and talked with Jesus. He was there when Jesus performed miracles, he was there when Jesus died upon the cross, and he was there when Jesus rose again. He wrote this book late in his life after he had had many years to think on all of Jesus words. He addresses many huge questions such as...

  • How do I know if I belong to the truth?
  • Can I actually know God?
  • Do I know if I have eternal life?
We have multiple studies going on in multiple locations. They are on Monday and Tuesday evenings at 5:30. Please email me if you are interested or would like to grow in your faith.

NavNites Fall 2011

In our large group meetings this quarter we will be taking a deeper look at I John. Here are some questions that John very clearly addresses...
  • Can I actually know God?
  • How do you know if I belong to the truth?
  • Do I know if I have eternal life?
Our aim is open up the Bible and find out what it says. We do not want to simply teach our opinions or what we have heard others say... we want to take a critical look at the Bible and let it penetrate deep into our lives. If you are interested in growing in your faith with some friends then come check us out.

We meet every Wednesday night at 7:30. 1st quarter we will be meeting at Crest Community Church which is located at 3431 Mt. Vernon. It is only about 1/4 mile from UCR dorms. 2nd and 3rd quarter we will be meeting at the HUB. Please come and join us.

Who The Navigators Are

We are a group of people who are looking to grow in our faith through deep friendships and the Bible.

Have you ever had a friend who you could share your deeper thoughts and struggles with? Whom you could share your joys with and feel comfortable around? Well, there is a lot of that going on in The Navigators at UCR. We hope and look forward to the new faces that come around fall 2011 that you also might enjoy these kinds of friendships.

We seek to grow in our faith through studying the Bible and helping each other figure out how to work it into our lives. We meet once a week as a large group and have Bible studies throughout the week. Conferences... service projects... campus events... and more. We hope you will come and join us as we look to grow in our faith.

STP - Summer Training Programs

This year the Navigators at UCR sent people all over the world... from Japan to the STP in San Marcos, CA. Kristin and I had the honor of being team leaders at the San Marcos STP. Students from UCR and other southern California campuses come together for 2 weeks to develop their faith. It is designed for intense spiritual growth and year after year that is exactly what happens.

Last NavNite of the Year

Spring quarter of 2011 ended with a bang. We enjoyed some great food together, many laughs, and even a few tears. We said goodbye to a few friends who have now graduated and moved on and look forward to who God will bring us next year.
